My name is Alicia and I am so excited to invite you on this journey with me! I am a Psychologist who fell in love with herbalism many years ago and have been dedicating extra time over the last couple of years in deep study of the healing power of plants. It is my ultimate goal to become a registered clinical herbalist, requiring many hours of education and clinical practice.
Why the name? I wanted to highlight that for me, it is the science behind herbs and the active constituents in these plants that have been studied, that informs my choices for teas and tinctures. Sometimes herbalists get a bad rap as fringe alternative therapies or medical practices. What I have found is that there is actually a wealth of research on some of these herbs, not to mention the cultures which have used these methods for thousands of years. I added the "witch" to the name because although the foundation is in science, there is something that feels so magical about foraging plants that are often overlooked and making them into medicines (or potions, if you like!).
Are you willing to consider helping to fund my education? Any little bit helps!Â
