I am a licensed Psychologist with a doctorate in Counseling Psychology, specializing in working with survivors of trauma. My professional life has been deeply rooted in understanding the mind, healing, and the resilience of the human spirit. Alongside this work, I have always felt a strong connection to nature and the quiet wisdom of plants.
About three to four years ago, that lifelong love deepened into a dedicated study of herbalism. I am currently enrolled in an Intermediate Herbalism program through Herbal Academy, and I plan to continue advancing my education with the goal of completing clinical training and becoming a registered herbalist through the American Herbalists Guild.
My vision is to integrate these two worlds—psychology and herbalism—into a more holistic approach to healing. Herbal medicine offers something incredibly powerful: it is accessible, often more affordable (especially when combined with foraging and local sourcing), and deeply supportive of the whole person. When paired with therapy, it creates an opportunity to nurture not just the mind, but the body and soul as well.
Beyond my professional and academic life, I am also a mother to an amazing 6-year-old daughter and have been happily married to my husband for 10 years. My life, much like my work, is grounded in connection—connection to family, to the earth, and to the process of growth and healing.
The Herbal Science Witch is a reflection of all of these parts of me: the scientist, the healer, the lifelong learner, and the believer in a little bit of everyday magic.
If you have the means and are so inclined, I am including a go-fund-me and my venmo below if you would like to donate funds towards my education! Ultimately I am using this education to give back to my community (particularly in the offerings at The Herbal Hearth, which I hope one day becomes a hub for community herbal care).
Meet The Uncommon Tinkerer—the quiet force behind the scenes who brings so much of this vision to life.
He is the one building the farmstand, mapping out the gardens, and turning ideas into something you can see, touch, and experience. With a background in biology (a master's degree, in fact), his understanding of the natural world pairs beautifully with my love of plants, grounding our shared work in both curiosity and care for the living world.
By trade, he is a skilled welder, fabricator, and certified welding inspector—but his talents extend far beyond that. At heart, he is a true maker. He moves fluidly between creative pursuits, dabbling in woodworking, blacksmithing, metallurgy, and jewelry making. His hands are rarely still, and his mind is always imagining what could be built next.
Some of his handcrafted pieces will find their way into the farmstand—plant hooks, nature-inspired jewelry, and whatever else his whimsical and inventive spirit dreams up. Each piece reflects not only craftsmanship, but a deep appreciation for form, function, and beauty.
More than anything, he is my rock and my greatest supporter. The Herbal Science Witch would not exist in the way it does without him—his steady presence, his creativity, and his belief in this shared dream.
