The Herbal Hearth is a family owned and operated farmstand, offering herbal goods, teas, and freshly baked goods (lots of breads and cookies!). We are located at 113 Trues Brook Road, West Lebanon, NH 03784. We are expanding and will hopefully be able to offer tons of home grown vegetables and fruits, and various other tinkerings (like home forged hangers, nature inspired jewelry, and plant themed greeting cards) this summer!
The Herbal Hearth had it's humble beginnings as a revamped entertainment center (pictured above), that opened for business in November of 2025. Due to some unfortunate wind storms which knocked the farmstand over and damaged it (in addition to a bigger dream), it is now currently being upgraded to a shed that we are renovating! Follow our facebook page for updates on when the grand opening will be! We are shooting for later this spring.
Another important aspect of The Herbal Hearth is paying it forward. In Turkey, there is a tradition called “askıda ekmek”, and it relates specifically to paying it forward with bread. Anyone can pay for an extra loaf to set aside and anyone is welcome to take the set aside loaves as needed. (https://www.bbc.com/.../20191125-turkeys-ancient...)
And in Italy, theres a tradition called Caffe Sopresdo- “the simple act of treating a stranger to coffee. You pay for two coffees but only enjoy one, leaving the second for someone who can't afford to buy one. It's a tradition that no one can seem to find the origins of, but Neapolitans believe this has simply been a cultural norm forever, handed down by word of mouth for generations”. What does this mean for the farmstand? There will always be a marked section of the farmstand stocked with items that are free. Anyone is welcome to take what they need from that section, whether that’s an herbal tea for a cold or a fresh loaf of bread. I will also donate a loaf or tea each week!
